Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 August 2026
AussieFinCheck(“we”, “us”) respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect through our finance enquiry forms, why we collect it, and who we share it with.
What we collect
When you complete an enquiry form we collect the answers you provide about your business and the finance you are seeking, together with your name, company name, email address, phone number and business postcode.
We also automatically record technical information about your visit: your IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, the page you arrived from, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed. We use this to verify that enquiries are genuine and to understand which marketing works.
Why we collect it
We collect your information for one purpose: to assess which of our lender partners may be able to assist you, and to pass your enquiry to them so they can contact you about finance options. We do not sell your information for unrelated purposes.
Who we share it with
We are a referral service, not a lender. When you submit an enquiry and consent to being contacted, we may disclose your information to lenders, brokers and finance partners on our panel so they can prepare and discuss finance options with you. Those partners handle your information under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
We may also disclose information to service providers that host this website and store enquiry data on our behalf, and where we are required to do so by law.
Screening and eligibility
Some questions in our forms are used to screen enquiries against our partners’ general lending criteria. If your answers indicate that our partners are unlikely to be able to assist, we tell you at that point and your contact details are not collected or stored. Eligibility indications given on this site are not credit approvals, and no credit check is performed to provide them.
Storage and security
Enquiry data is stored on secure, access-controlled servers and is only accessible to authorised personnel. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we retain it only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You may also withdraw your consent to being contacted at any time. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information or a complaint, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
